The PURIST
Leg Positioning System™

Measurable, reproducible positioning for anterior hip replacement

Anterior approach hip replacement places specific demands on patient positioning.

Femoral exposure and implant placement require controlled extension, external rotation, and adduction of the operative limb — often with dynamic intraoperative adjustments as the procedure progresses.

PURIST exists to support those demands with predictable, repeatable positioning that remains stable under load.

System overview

The PURIST enables all essential leg movements for anterior THR in a condensed and efficient system.

It is built to perform independent DA THR movements on a graduated scale, allowing precise intraoperative control of traction and rotation. Traction and rotation can be adjusted simultaneously, either directly by the surgeon, or by other personnel.

The system is designed to behave consistently throughout the procedure, supporting reproducible positioning rather than intermittent correction.

Intraoperative control & workflow impact

By providing a precise and operator-friendly system for repeatable positioning, the PURIST supports a smoother workflow for surgical teams performing DA THR procedures.

Setup, compatibility & practical fit

The PURIST is designed to integrate into operating rooms with minimal friction.

Its staff-friendly setup and small footprint make PURIST suitable for both hospital ORs and ambulatory surgery centres.
